Saharanpur Development Authority is created under Section-4 of Urban Planning and Development Act, 1973 by Government Order no. 1347/9-आ/5-95-68-डीए-83dated 3rd May 1995
The primary objectives of the Authority are:
- Preparation of Master Plan for Planned Urban Development.
- Development & Control as per Master Plan.
- Acquisition of Land and Management for Housing and Urban Development.
- Construction Housing and Development.
- Provision of Physical and Social Infrastructure.
The various departments in the authority include land acquisition, planning, engineering, property, finance and enforcement. Since its creation, the Authority has come a long way in providing services and developing the infrastructure and development schemes.
The Regulated Authority for Saharanpur was created by the Government Notification no. 2127/37-3-21/आरबीओ/62 dated 17th July 1978 by including the Saharanpur Nagar Palika Area and the surrounding 102 villages.
Thereafter under Section-4 of Urban Planning and Development Act, 1973 by Government Order no. 1347/9-आ/5-95-68-डीए-83dated 3rd May 1995Saharanpur Development Authority was formed. The regulated authority area was notified as development authority area.
The area of the authority was expanded by Government Notification no. 274/आठ – 10-16-3 गठन/2008 dated 28th October 2016. By this notification, 42 additional villages were included in the development area. To see full list of development area villages, click here
